Overview

Drift downstream along the beautiful Peñas Blancas River and immerse yourself in the abundant wildlife and lush rainforest surroundings. During this tranquil and slow-paced journey your bilingual and expert-naturalist guide will help you to spot monkeys and iguanas relaxing in the trees, as well as sloths and all kinds of birds. 

You have the choice to take the tour either in a personal kayak or in a shared raft. The kayak option is great for those who want more independence during their journey, giving you the option to explore the river at your own pace, while the raft is perfect for those wishing to sit back and relax while your guide does the paddling – leaving you hands free for taking photos or observing wildlife through binoculars. 

After your river journey, we’ll visit the Hidalgo Family Home where you’ll experience authentic Costa Rican culture and savor a traditional snack.
