This extraordinary private reserve offers the opportunity to see the rainforest from a new perspective—high up in the canopy. Most of the biodiversity in the tropical rainforest is found in the upper layers, but we are usually restricted to exploring it from the ground. Arenal Hanging bridges is an experience that allows you to step into the world of towering trees, delicate orchids, vibrant bromeliads, and lush palms, all competing for sunlight above the forest floor.

The 3 km (1.9-mile), , 2.5 hours long trail takes you through dense jungle, crossing 10 fixed bridges and 6 hanging bridges, the highest of which stands 45 meters (148 feet) above the ground. Along the way, you’ll take in unforgettable views of Arenal Volcano and the surrounding landscape.

The reserve is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including over 250 species of birds, howler monkeys, sloths, and poison dart frogs.

While the Mistico Hanging Bridges can be visited on your own, spotting wildlife in its natural habitat can be challenging—many animals are experts in camouflage. Our naturalist guides have lots of knowledge of nature and know exactly where to look. They will not only help you find hidden creatures but also share fascinating insights that will make this experience even more memorable. Plus, you’ll leave with incredible photos to cherish forever!

Note: Entrance fees to parks are not included in the tour price. However, we’re happy to assist with pre-booking and payments to ensure your spots are reserved and your entry is smooth and hassle-free. Entrance to Mistico Hanging Bridges is not included. Rates are $32 per adult and $12 per child.
