With La Fortuna and Tamarindo both popular destinations in Costa Rica, many people travel from one to the other without stopping to appreciate some of the beautiful places in between. On this transfer with a difference, we start the day early and spend the morning in the majestic Volcán Tenorio national park – home to the sky-blue Rio Celeste river.
You will hike up a well-maintained trail through this incredible habitat, stopping along the way to see the waterfall which looks almost too blue to be real. You will also witness bubbling sulphurous hot springs and the meeting of the waters where two rivers combine and chemically react to form the unique turquoise waters of Rio Celeste. The hike takes around 6 km and is moderately challenging. You will have the chance to spot wildlife along the trail such as the beautiful Eyelash Pitviper or the iconic Keel-billed Toucan. Lunch is available in one of the local restaurants where you can try some traditional Costa Rican food such as casado or gallo pinto from around $8 to $15.
After lunch we’re back on the road to get you to the beach just in time for sunset!
The published price of $280 corresponds only to the private transportation service from La Fortuna to Liberia Airport (up to 6 people).
This rate does not include the Rio Celeste Tour.
