Children’s Eternal Rainforest, Costa Rica’s largest private reserve and a biodiversity hotspot, is ideal for ecotourism, bird watching, hiking and trekking . Founded by donations from children in 44 countries, the Bosque Eterno de los Niños (BEN) is managed by the nonprofit Monteverde Conservation League.
Immerse yourself in the tropical rainforest on a guided naturalist morning hike (intermediate level). This scenic 3-mile route takes you through the enchanting trails of the Children’s Eternal Rainforest, Pocosol station, where you’ll witness and experience the diverse wildlife, ecosystems, and landscapes unique to this beautiful reserve.
Along the way, you’ll visit a stunning waterfall, a volcanic lagoon, and steaming fumaroles, natural wonders that highlight the dynamic geology of the region. As you explore, you’ll find harmony and tranquility, reconnecting with the natural rhythms of the Earth and revitalizing your senses. Accompanied by one of our expert nature guides, you’ll gain deeper insights into the flora and fauna that make this environment so special.
For experienced trekkers, a longer and more challenging route is available upon request, taking an additional scenic trail to further explore the reserve’s hidden gems for trek in Costa Rica.
For those interested, there is an optional visit to add – we will stop at the workshop of a local artisan, who promotes art through recycling—an inspiring way to see how creativity and sustainability come together in this unique community.
